Network Pass-Through Gland Straight
The straight network pass-through is used to create a waterproof connection outside of your enclosure build that allows access to an RJ45 connection. This can be used for both Ethernet and RS485 serial. RS485 Serial has typical applications for remote receiver boards, DMX fixtures, and Light-O-Rama controllers. The installation requires a one inch hole in your enclosure. The network gland is inserted into the hole from the outside of the enclosure and secured with a nut on the inside of the enclosure. On the outside is a dust cover and a cover that is used for the cable to be attached. This gland requires a separate CAT5/6 patch cable installed inside of the enclosure to link the gland to the electronics.
To use these directly with a Kulp style controller for DMX or LOR output, you can remove the RJ45 connector from one end of your patch cable and directly connect it to the Kulp board in the following way. Any unused wires can be cut off or tied off for separate use.
